Here is my first comparison photoset.

The photo on the left was from last year when I weighed my heaviest @ 127kgs. I couldn’t bare seeing the scales creep any closer to 130 and started taking control of my eating & exercise habits.
Cutting all soft drinks and excess sugar from my diet.

The photo on the right was taken just last night. I’ve since lost 25kgs/55lbs and now weighing in at 102kgs.

I still have quite the journey ahead of me as I have another 22kgs to go until my goal weight of 80kgs (i am 181cm tall) but seeing the changes in both my body and mindset over the past few months have been all I need to ensure I go all the way.

Also anyone with a fitbit who wants to be weight loss buddies, send me a message with your email. The more the merrier :)

so a before and after. left is your fairly standard college life. not really eating all day because I was sleeping too much, or not getting out of bed until 1 or 2pm. rushing to classes and maybe snacking on a chocolate bar. getting home at 9 or 10 and either going straight to drinking or else getting a massive takeaway and staying up till 5am watching crap on my laptop. I was miserable with shit confidence and as time went on I found it harder and harder to get out of bed and leave my apartment. I found it difficult to motivate myself to study or look after myself. on the right is after a year of completely changing my lifestyle. 5:15am wake ups for work, a big breakfast, lunch and dinner plus snacks. it’s all organised and planned. a healthy relationship with exercise (I have gone through the unhealthy relationship with exercise - it can be just as damaging as the college unhealthy lifestyle). my confidence is great, I’m so highly motivated that I constantly need to tell myself to relax and take a step back. while I’m far from perfect and have a lot to fix I am so happy with where I am and can see my goals in front of me. everything seems possible and I am so excited to become a qualified personal trainer so I can help people like me. if I can turn my life around and become someone I am proud of, well then anyone can. of course motivation and inspiration from some amazing people on tumblr helps too ❤️❤️❤️

First pic around 2012; at 213 lbs. Second pic from November 2015 at 168. Lost weight very, very slowly, with more effort put in since July 2015! I weighed around 190 for a good 2 years until I finally saw some real progress this past year after quitting topical steroids that was originally used to treat mild eczema (which explains why my skin is bad in the second pic! I’m 9 months in now and still healing)
I currently weigh around 173-175, but this is the longest I’ve stayed under 180 in a long time. I think my body loses like 15 pounds, gains 5 back, then stays at that weight for a couple months, then loses another 10, and so on. Which, I’ve heard that if you lose weight too fast your body will try to pack it back on because it gets used to your current weight, which is why it’s good to lose and keep it off for a couple months and then lose some more (though I’m not sure how credible that is, but I believe I heard it on a TEDTalk in my Psychobiology class last semester).
My diet (lifestyle!) mostly consists of fresh vegetable juices that I make about 2-3 times a day and good fats like avocado, fish, and hemp protein. I also eat lots of organic apples.
my goal is to get in the 150s, which I haven’t weighed since I was 12 (funnily enough, the age I started topical steroids). Any questions or if anyone would like some juice recipes feel free to message me!

the third one is from October 2015 and id lost 2 ½ stone at that point
The fourth is Christmas after I’d lost 3 ½ stone
And the final two are me at nearly 5 stone down
It’s been a long journey but I’ve still got a long way to go but I’m so much happier 😇

Tomorrow is my 14 month RNY surgiversary and I figured I’d post a little update today. It’s been about 16 months since I started my weight loss journey, and I’ve lost 145lbs. I have so much more energy, more confidence, and am a way better mom than I was at 330lbs.

I still have another 30 or so pounds till I reach my goal, but I’m pretty happy where I am now and my progress. 💕💕

This is my progress so far. My weigh-in is in 4 days so i dont wanna know what ive lost yet. Lol but the left is when i started on jan 23rd and the right is today Feb 28th. I wanted to share this because i wanted to tell yall the differences i FEEL not see!
●First, i feel my tummy not being in the way of my pants as much, feels good to not feel extra rolls in clothing.
●When I shower, i feel that my loofah goes straight down then on a slope on my tummy. Same for the water.
●I feel that when I’m cold, i hug myself and my arms go more in and my waist feels more defined. Now i hug myself often just to feel my waist.
●When i paint my toenails, i can breathe! Same when i shave my legs.
●i feel my towel wrap around me allll the way! Feels great not to feel a freakin’ cold breeze, if ya know what I’m sayin’
●Ive always had a butt but i feel when i lay on my tummy, i can feel it more perky! (Yaas)
●i feel my jawline! OMG, when i put on lotion or foundation, i think “wow, i feel this bone structure fo sho”
●Collarbones! As a nervous habit, i always put my hands to my neck and just touch but now i feel the collarbones! When i shrug my shoulders, my collarbones are poppin’!
●i DONT feel my chongo (Spanish slang for hairtie) cutting the circulation to my wrists! :D
●when i grab on to my shins to stretch, i feel my legs are easier to grab..they don’t feel like heavy logs but sculpted!;)
●When i cross my arms i feel like i can still breathe cause before i would be a workout to get my arms across my chest.

What I’m saying is to all of yall who are in the first few weeks, days or those who just finished the “beginning” of their journey, like me…celebrate! Celebrate little tiny victories that have nothing to do with your look. Keep going and you’ll notice that you dont have to make those daily accommodations for your body. Dont wait until you’ve reached a your milestone, you have little ones already. Be your motivation to keep going! I look for girls with my height, weight, goals to motivate me and thats so great but none of that compares to the motivation i light in myself. ONLY YOU CAN CHANGE YOURSELF.

In this 2009 picture, I am 13 stone 7lbs. Which is the weight I had been since I was 13 years old. It went up to 14 stone 7lbs (203lbs) in 2012 age 22.

That’s when I started making changes and went all the way down to 136-138lbs in the summer of 2014 and kept at that weight until summer 2015.

All sorts of things started happening at this point; work, family, relationships building stress upon stress and the control weakened and I found myself eating more, exercising less and as science will have it - the weight started creeping back up. All the way up to 158 lbs!

But I saw it all coming, acknowledged it, welcomed it, accepted it, rode the effing wave, and then decided to do something about it. 

I’m back down to 150lbs in this picture on the right taken today and although I hope to be back in the 130′s soon, I mostly just want my strength and stamina back, and a less jiggly bod.

Ignore my weird neck rolls and the counter clutter, but on the picture on the left I weighed 148 lbs. Being 5'7", it isn’t unhealthy, but it wasn’t where I wanted to be in my life. I wasn’t happy with how I looked. I made an effort to watch what I ate, and while I could only go to the gym about once a week with my busy work schedule. Now, on the right, I’m down to 134, and I’m so much happier. It has only been about a month now, so it’s a work in progress, but seeing this allows me to see I’m much closer to my goal. I struggled with anorexia for a year and a half, but since recovering, I’m proud of myself for not going back to my unhealthy ways in order to lose weight.

What a difference one month can make! I’m 5'4 and on the left I weighed 82.5kg. I weigh 80.7kg on the right, although I’m trying to focus more on how I look and feel rather than the numbers on the scale. My “goal” weight is around 52-55kg, but I’ll stop when I feel like I’m where I should be. 

I’ve been doing a combination of cardio and weight training, as well as making healthier adjustments to my diet. We can all get where we want if we’re patient and stick to it. I’m really proud of myself and if you’re doing this and giving it your best shot, I hope you’re proud of yourself too :D

😮😮😮 was feeling very down on myself today but then remembered to try on the pants I bought second hand at the start of the month. No matter how much I tried back then, I could not get them done up or even get the materials to at least touch. I bought them any way as a guide for my weight loss (I don’t own pants, I wear dresses & skirts all the time). I pulled them on today, first noticing that they wasn’t at all tight on my legs any more and secondly I managed to actually do them up! They are still tight so I won’t be wearing them out but still, I can actually do them up! From feeling like what I was doing wasn’t working to actually seeing that it is has totally made my whole mood turn around :) :) :)
Remember that the scale doesn’t show the whole story!

I will never forget that New Years party and hating the way I looked in that dress. I wore it for pictures cause my friends made me then I changed to sweats. I decided then that i NEVER wanted to feel that way again.

It all basically came down to the old fashioned way. Cutting the crap food and getting my butt in the gym consistently. Cardio bunny and weight training.
It’s a process, and there’s always room for progress.
