Starting Weight: 206 lbs. August 2015

Current Weight: 172 lbs. March 2016

I keep my calories below 1400 per day

I run for 45+ minutes 3x per week.

What Keeps me going: I make smarter food choices. I don’t cut anything completely from my diet… if I want pizza, I have pizza, but I limit it to one slice… not one entire pizza! and I alter my eating for the rest of the day to accommodate that meal! The diet has to be something you can live with. If you make it too hard on yourself, you won’t ever stick with it. It has to be something you can live with!!! I use My Fitness pal to log my food daily, I have logged for 240 days in a row! Yay! Another thing that keeps me going is setting Small Goals. I set monthly goals. (For example, work out 3x each week/ keep my calories below 1400 at least 5 days a week /  and lose 5 pounds this month.) My next month goal is to improve my running time!

And for exercise, I run new routes through my neighborhood to keep it interesting or I try to find new parks in my area to run. If I let it get boring, then its hard to keep me motivated. I use two apps when I run… I use “running for weight loss” because it started me off with a few minutes of walking with a few seconds of running and slowly worked me up to a few minutes of running with a few seconds of walking. When I started this app, running for 30 seconds dang near killed me!! now, I can run for three miles straight! Super kudos to this app! its awesome! The second app I use is “Zombies, Run!”. I love this app! It tells a story while you run between the songs from your playlist. And then certain parts of the story, you come across zombies, which you have to run harder in an attempt to outrun the zombies!!  I know it sounds childish, but hey! do whatever it takes to get yourself outside and running! I actually look forward to my runs so I can hear what happens next in the story!
