I am so sick of the hate that people throw around when it comes to WLS patients. There are so many misinformed people who say we are “cheating” to lose weight. I don’t even understand what that means. What am I cheating at? I’m not competing with anyone to see who can lose weight the fastest or the most. I’m trying to get healthy for the first time in my life so that I can live a full life with my daughter and family. I have to work just as hard as anyone else. I have to eat right and workout, and if I don’t, I gain the weight right back- just like anyone else. It’s not a magic cure, the surgeons don’t just cut out all of the fat during the surgery.
Get informed, stop judging, and just be happy that people are trying to get healthy for whatever their reasons are. 💕
