I’ve always been a bigger girl and the lowest weight I remember being was back in high school at 180lbs. I remember I cried when I saw that weight. Throughout the years though I gained it back especially in college. After going through a break up, I finally decided I had enough and that this year was going to be my year. Not only physically but mentally. I’m makings steps to become not only stronger but happier.
Not every day is perfect but I’m definitely a lot more conscious of what I’m putting into my body. I cut out soda completely and a lot of cheese. I eat out a lot less and when I do I go for a salad with chicken and try to stay away from fast food as much as possible. Water and tea are my best friends. I don’t beat myself up for eating foods I want but now I eat it in moderation. (4 munchkins vs a whole donut.)
I work out between 2 - 3 times a week. I started by walking on the treadmill and doing the elliptical for about 20 minutes each. I set a goal to reach 3 miles between the two. Every time I go to the gym I push myself a little harder by intervals of 5. 5 more seconds, .05 more of a mile, 5 more calories. I’m at a 12 minute mile and now can jog half of that without stopping compared to the 20 minutes walk I started off a couple of months ago. I do squats, lunges, and curls at the beginning of my workout with only 10-15lbs weights.
I go to the gym by myself which can be terrifying to think of. But I go at night where there’s a lot less people and I feel that I don’t feel as restricted by friends and having to engage with them. I do my thing and go back home within an hour and a half. I was tired of saying “tomorrow” and finally decided “today.” I’ve been struggling with 5 reaching 225lbs but I know I can’t just stop here and I’m switching up my fitness route with meal planning. Proteins - lean meats and veggies are gunna be my best friends. I work two jobs and I’m trying to get an apprenticeship as well. If I can do it you can do it too. (Maybe one day I’ll start a blog.)
I’m pretty self conscious about this post but I know that because of someone else posting their success it inspired me - so hopefully I’ll inspire someone too. Message me or add me if you’d like! :)
