I’m the last hours of 2016, I have been taking the time to reflect on the transformation I have undergone throughout the year. It’s had to believe that just a year and a half ago I was diagnosed with Fibromyalgia and thought I’d never be able to be fit due to the constant pain. After months of doctors visits, I found a new normal. Unfortunately, getting to that point meant is reached my highest weight ever and I knew I needed to make a change.
Fast forward to May of 2016, I found my Crossfit box and my life changed. No fancy equipment. No pretentious people. Just a group of amazing and supportive people that stopped at nothing to make sure I felt welcomed. The workouts have been tough. I sweat every single day. But not a day goes by that I don’t see an ounce of progress. It’s exhilarating to know my body can not only handle the work but often dominates it.
2016 introduced me to a new version of myself and I cannot wait to push myself further in 2017. In 7 months I’ve dropped 42 lbs and have gained a ton of strength. I will continue to push for my 100 lb weight loss goal this coming year and will stop at nothing to ensure that I continue to progress in all areas of my life.
Here is to a happy and healthy new year! Bring it 2017!
