Working on yourself is so important. This past summer, I was depressed to the point my manager came to me and forced me to take a day off as a “mental health day” because things were that bad. I didn’t like who I was physically or mentally with the way I let everyone take advantage of me, and the fact I was constantly being screwed over by people. Come September, I decided to focus solely on myself, doing nothing but concentrating on school, going to the gym and working. Because of that, I’ve lost at least 15 pounds in these 4 months and ended the semester with 3 A’s and a B+, my GPA being a 3.83. For the first time in my life, I’m so proud to say I’m fully and completely happy. I have the most supportive and amazing best friends, lost the bad ones along the way and for the first time can honestly say I love who I am. Taking the time to focus on yourself is so important. It’s okay to be selfish. Learn to love yourself. I still have a lot of progress to go in the gym, and the next few years in school are going to be tough, but I’m more than ready. 2017, time to kick some ass.
