To those who stick solely to cardio without any weights in fear of getting “bigger” or looking more “manly”, here’s how just adding resistance training toned and leaned out my body so far and within less than year.
On the left is a photo of me in February 2016 before adding weight/ resistance training to my workouts. Before this, exercise to me meant going to the gym 3 times a week on average and spending over an hour on an elliptical or bike. And, maybe using the leg press if I didn’t feel embarrassed (since it was one of the few ‘non-cardio’ machines I kinda knew how to use).
On the right is me during December 2016 after going to the gym still 3 times a week on average, for only an hour average, BUT adding weights and variation to my workout.
Doing this, definitely did not make me look any “bigger” or more “manly”. In my perspective, it made me look the exact opposite!
