I went from not being able to put them up over my thighs (197 lbs, not pictured) to being able to fit into them for the first time since high school 10 years ago!!!! This has been my weight loss goal for YEARS and this year I promised myself I’d be able to wear them by summer. 

Don’t ever say I “just” lost 10 lbs! Yes I lost 40 lbs but the difference between each pictures is “only” 10 lbs.

If you showed me these pictures about 3-5 years ago and said it was me, I would’ve laughed at you. I would’ve told you I never wear bikinis or I wish I had that body or that it’s my “goal”. I would’ve been planning to be healthier but not taking any action on it.

Coming down from 140/130 - 110 is a bigger difference than you’d think after all of the on and off healthy eating vs the fries and meats. The constant blows of depression from body shaming myself into a spiral of cakes. It’s taken YEARS and YEARS to get my body to where it is now. Staying consistent is key.

My body has finally found it’s happy place and this is only where I got to, but not where I want to be ❤️ Now that I’ve reached my goal it’s time to start setting new ones and keep on pushing //

I’ve been kind of MIA and hesitant to post any more weight loss photos because one of my more recent before/after photos was taken and spread all over the internet for false advertising for weight loss supplements. I have literally gotten a message every day about this for the past year. It’s frustrating, but what can you do? Think positive and realize for every person who takes advantage of your photos there are 10 people who you can inspire to do things the way you actually did - through hard work, dedication, exercise and healthy eating.

I haven’t tracked macros or counted calories in months because I was literally obsessive about it and it was ruining my life. But, I have continued to listen to my body and make healthy choices. I got married last month and felt amazing! I never thought I could pull off a snug wedding dress, but I felt so beautiful. 120 lbs in May 2016 versus 185 lbs in December 2011. How worth it was it? More than anything.

I have had many failed attempts at losing weight and one day i decided to make a change. I was unhappy with how I felt and how I looked and realized I was heading down a road I never wanted to go down. I didn’t want to be 30 with diabetes because with the rate I was going I was probably gaining 10-15lbs a year; however, this is only the beginning. I am excited to see how much my body and health will change in the next few months.

I had posted this on my Facebook a few days ago when there a challenge where you had to post two pictures of yourself 5 years apart to see how much you had changed.

The left hand picture was taken September 2010 and the right May 2016. The left hand picture is a girl who was unhappy but overly confident. Who hid her insecurities behind a massive personality. Never exercise, had no clue about nutrition and who’s idea of a balanced lunch was an energy drink, a packet of crisps and a chocolate bar!!

Skip forward 5 years and I’m not that person anymore!!!

Over the last 5 years I’ve been through the most amazing journey. Learning about fitness and nutrition. Trying out many different methods before finding the one that works for me! But most importantly I learned about the person I am and where I want to be!!

The journey is ongoing and ever changing! Striving to be the best version of myself that I can be!! 💪🏼💚

Today is Transformation Tuesday, which though that happens every week- I kept putting it off. Thinking I’ll do it when I’m back to my lowest weight, or when I can see a difference in myself.

But then I saw this picture of myself. That isn’t my highest weight. In fact it’s probably 30-40lbs below my lowest weight. I was so unhappy. Not because of my weight, that wasn’t it. It was my poor health, my depression, my lethargy- it was everything else.

So if it wasn’t my weight that made me sad then, why am I letting the number on the scale stop me from reminding myself of the progress I have already made?!
