Just reminding myself of my journey towards a healthier me. I never felt unattractive but what I did feel was unhealthy and uncomfortable, winded, and bloated. I saw my friend Justin drop an incredible amount purely through healthy changes in nutritional intake. He challenged me to three weeks of commitment minimum and then he would tell me how simple it was. I remember when I started, the battle was all in my head. I had to overcome doubt and denial and trust the process, and stay committed. Within two months I’d dropped three pant sizes and 35 pounds.
What did I do? I literally only ate vegetables, legumes and proteins every meal 6 days/wk. Seventh day was for calorie cycling and I ate whatever I wanted. Then back on the 6 day routine. In the initial three weeks, my pants were all of a sudden too big. By the end of two months, I was wearing my skinny jeans I’d had hidden away, hoping I’d one day fit them again.
It’s so easy for a lot of us to eat unhealthy options too much of the time, but with a few tweaks in your mind, removing the “it’s impossible, I can’t, my body just wants to be this size, I’m just big” mindset, you can find a healthier you. Food is after all, just fuel for your body, but when you fill yourself with too much unhealthy fuel it clogs the system, it slows you down. Eat well so on those days you really want pizza, you can have that slice. Most of us can’t eat like that all the time without feeling the consequences. Learning to eat better for your body and your health can be a process, and I’m still learning constantly that I can make healthier choices. But I’ll still say yes to treats once in awhile. ππͺπ½π ππΆπ½π
YOU CAN DO IT, TOO!
