fat-tofit submitted:

My before (left) and during (right). The left was New Years Eve 2011 and I was at my highest weight, somewhere around 215 lbs. The right is from December 2015. I’m 5'3" so there is not a lot of room for the weight to go. It’s crazy to think I ever let myself get to the point of my highest weight. I was never super bothered by it until I saw myself in pictures. I was happy with my life and my weight never got me down. Obviously I would have bad days about the way I looked but the sadness would always pass. Until I saw that picture of myself on NYE ‘11. I just honestly couldn’t believe that was me. So I woke up January 4, 2011 and promised to be healthier. I joined a gym and began working out 4-5 days a week. I would do between 30-45 minutes of cardio and about 20-25 minutes of weight exercises. I also completely changed my eating habits. For me, what worked best, was counting calories. I watched my portion sizes and really tried to eat as healthy as possible but I also understood the importance of moderation. I enjoyed a piece of cake at birthday parties. I enjoyed a slice of pizza at my favorite pizza restaurant. I didn’t want me getting healthier to be a punishment, I wanted it to be a part of my life. As of today, I’ve gained back a little weight and am now about 162 lbs. I’m working to get back into a workout routine continue with making healthy eating choices. I hope to lose about 20-30 more lbs and am excited to see some additional progress!
