Making my end-of-the-year progress post a little early because I know my stomach will not look this good a couple days from now. ;)
In May 2013 I weighed 190-200ish lbs. At the end of 2013, I weighed 151lbs. And now I weigh around 125!
This year threw some huge roadblocks at me - a broken wrist that kept me from any arm workouts for three months, for example! - but I dealt with them and didn’t let it stop me from making progress. Breaking my wrist allowed me to focus on running more than ever before (since it was just about the only workout I could actually do!) and made me fall in love with long distance running all over again. If it weren’t for that, I probably wouldn’t be able to run 9 miles today!
At the end of 2013, my longest run was 4 miles; in March 2014, I ran my first 8k; and now, I’m working towards a half marathon, with my longest run so far being 9 miles.
I took 3 AP classes this school year. I’m in 7 clubs, president/vice president of some. I got a part-time job. And yet I still got straight A’s AND found the time to workout at least 3 days a week (most of the time). Hell yeah.
Next year will probably be even more difficult than 2014 was, but now I know I can handle the challenge. Let’s do it.
