Since I had on the sweatshirt yesterday, I thought I would show what it looks like when I wear it now 😊

bighairfitterbody:

It’s been 10months since I joined the gym and started becoming more active. I changed my eating at the beginning of January last year and while I was doing Tae Bo at home I knew I needed to add actual gym to my Lifestyle Change. It’s been an interesting Journey to say the least.

I’m currently 231lbs (based on my at home scale that idk works, lol down from 291) but it’s amazing how toning and developing muscles can make you look good.

Start a Challenge tonight for 21 Day Fix with the group @sarah2013 has together. With that said. I have been splurging this weekend because I know I am not gonna have anything out of the norm.

My 3 month update!!

1st of November 2015 : 99.2kg/ 218lbs
31st of January 2016: 88kg / 194lbs

LOST : 11.2kg / 25lbs

Overall I also lost 44cm / 17 inches!

Look at my stomach!!
I think that what surprises me the most is that I can now sit in positions I couldn’t handle before 😁😁

I didn’t make my goal of 12kg in 3 months but I don’t really care anymore 😃

This was done through zumba, running and lifting ~ No dieting for me just a healthy lifestyle and some Oreos here and there.

I also believe that me being vegan helps a lot in making me feel good in my head in body!

My next goal is 84.5 by the end of February!

If you want to start a February challenge with me don’t hesitate and contact me 😆😆

iwanttoliveabeautifullife submitted:

Hey so I initially had been telling myself that I wasn’t going to submit one of these until I reached I don’t know pretty much my goal weight (ie actually probably never). But I need to get over myself more, because I need to learn how to be proud of who I am now instead of ashamed of who I once was. Particularly because I never, ever hated myself no matter what my size was. I’ve worried what other people think of me, of course, and hated that they thought the worst of me because of my weight. I’ve always wanted what’s best for myself, and that’s never been obesity. But I only could ever want better for myself because I knew that I deserved more, not just because I wanted to be less.

And also today I finally broke a boundary that I couldn’t get past for years and now weigh less then I did pretty much my entire adult/adolescent life, which is pretty cool.

I still have a bit of a ways to go, and I struggle with the fact still that most days I still feel like I’m just as heavy as I was in the first picture. But I’d really like to get out of the 200’s (and I’m closer now then ever) and cross the threshold from “obese” to “overweight” but honestly after that I don’t have any specific goals. I’ve adjusted my lifestyle enough that I’m willing to let my body settle where it wants, and I’m not going to try and force anything.

(I’m down nearly 75 pounds from my highest weight, there is about a 50 pound and 3 year difference between photos.)

Weight loss is about a lot of things - health, endurance, longevity. But for me it’s represented one very crucial thing: Joy. The freedom to unzip myself and release my inner spirit; fostering a belief in myself first and everything else second. Some days are harder than others and not every month ends with a win but finding this picture was a reminder to me of the sadness I was carrying and the happiness I’ve conjured. So I'ma celebrate that.

immortal-axolotl: 2014 –> 2016 I was a high school graduate,...

immortal-axolotl:

2014 –> 2016

I was a high school graduate, simmering in the never ending guilt not being good enough, not being perfect. I was judged for having no idea of what my ‘true’ interests are, or what actually I’m going to do in my life. Back in 2014, everybody around me knew what they want while I was just a confused child to whom nobody told the rules of the game. Plus, I was obese - hence more social pressure and guilt. I was extremely not comfortable with my body, I wanted to change but I did not know how - I already had a label of “the fat and kinda dumb one” and I had no honest idea how to overcome it. I didn’t really want to, either. They know what they do, I thought, and if they think I’m this kind of person, probably it would be better if I actually was.

It would never be better.

However, the environment around me changed. I graduated and moved to another country. I had a new page in front of me, a new society where I was yet a no-one. For the first time in my life, I felt the ability to shape myself the way I want to. I was not eager to start, though - it was scary to let the previous social experience go. What if they will judge me for starting the gym? What if my ideas will be thrown away as usual? The risk was big, but the outcome was worth it, so I took a deep breath in and started carving a new self.

And it worked. I changed - in my person and in my body. Now I feel more mature, more in charge of my own life than I was before. Now I know that my body is a tool I can use to work on. Now I understand that the only thing that was stopping me before was the social opinion. Almighty “they”.

And you know what - fuck them. Do not listen to them. Seriously. You have no idea how more productive you could be if you just stopped caring how the others label you. Once you set yourself aside all of “them”, either physically or psychologically, you open up enormous powers within yourself. You begin to see how you can change a lot of things you do not like. You begin to live as your own person.

Your life should be free of people who are against your improvement.

achangethatlasts:

Life is not linear, it’s a lot of ups and downs, moments that make you feel amazed to even be alive and moments that make you question every single thing and choice you’ve ever made. Weight loss used to be the only goal in sight. Earning my health has made all difference in my life. In the past year and a half there have been so many astounding and beautiful moments, that have truly make me feel so blessed and proud. There have also been more moments of sheer hopelessness and absolute grief that almost made me give up completely especially in the last couple of months. But when I made the decision to change my life 3 years ago, I knew that giving up and choosing fear will never ever be an option in my life again. Always chose to be brave and chose life. My posture says so much more about my progress than my waistline. My self confidence and efficacy has exploded since that first picture was taken. Working as an exercise physiologist, personal trainer and group fitness instructor used to make me uncomfortable. Even though I was well educated, trained, and certified, I still thought “why would anyone listen to my advice on health and fitness?” Now I think “Obviously I know what I’m talking about!” I am walking the walk AND talking the talk.

I have made lots of changes to my lifestyle in the past year, but one of the biggest motivators I found for myself was joining dietbets. Not only did I put real money on the line if I didn’t lose the weight, but I was involved in a huge group of people with a common, short-term goal. If I ever lost my steam or was discouraged by a plateau, I went to the message boards and found inspiration! Having a support system kept me going when it was tough, and let me know it was ok to be human.

Remember that someone else’s success is not your failure!

soraias-journey submitted:

Left: 212 lbs
Right: 170 lbs

I had issues with the way my body looks my whole life which made loving and accepting myself a whole lot harder.

I always said I was not the athletic kind, to justify my laziness and lack of enthusiasm with fitness. It’s true. I’m not the most coordinated person. But I am flexible as fuck. I always had amazing muscle mass, even under all that fat, particularly on my lower body. I always said I couldn’t do it. I always said I wasn’t strong enough.
But, I am.
I really am.
And two months after hitting the gym almost every day, I am able to see a round butt forming. Good quads. Even baby biceps.
I still have fat to lose. Obviously.
I still have work to do. Rome wasn’t built in a day. But it’s okay.

Conclusion: I can do anything, be anything. My lack of motivation, my self hate, all these years… It was all in my head. And it was holding me back. I didn’t realize how much until now.

So to all of you who are living with a self destructive mind, like I was… I hope you realize your worth soon enough.
I know it’s hard. I’m with you on that.
But as soon as you let go of that mindset, as soon as you decide you won’t let the dark side of your mind take control of your life, as soon as you get the discipline to ignore the negative thoughts… You will blossom. Trust me. You will. You can be anything. You have it in you. Trust yourself! It’s a hard process. But it’s worth it. 😊

NOTE: years separate those two photos. 2 months is just the amount of time I’ve been taken the gym seriously, and seeing muscle gainzzzz.  😊

so it’s been a while since i posted a weight progress picture. The left hand side was August of 2015 and the right hand side is right now (January 2016). In September of 2015 I went fully vegetarian and this month I have decided to ditch the dairy and go vegan! I have not lost much weight since the August picture maybe 3 lbs? I weigh 136 now. But i feel so much better and a whole lot healthier than I did back then. The weight scale might say something, but pictures are a better representation. So yeah this is my progress so far. It only gets better from here now that I am vegan :)

theveryhungrycaterpillarr:

I’ve been feeling a little bit sorry for myself recently as I’ve been putting insane effort into the gym and trying ever so hard with my eating and the scales have refused to move! (Left I was 74kg at the end of October 2015 and right I’m currently at 73kg)

And in the past they always have gone down but the difference this time is that I’ve switched to weight training with minimal Cardio. It’s apparently worked but differently then I have experienced before.

Now that I can see my body is changing I’m feeling better about my new process which is to do it slow. As in not cut out any foods or restrict in anyway as in the past while a short term diet has worked for a bit it was never maintainable because my real life fact is that I am going to have to work at this for my entire life because of genetics.

Which is fine and which is also why I’ll be happy to reach my goals in 6 months or 1 year or 2 or even 5. Because I will get there eventually without having to give up a single moment of enjoying my life which will always include incredible, tastey but not always healthy food!
