beingmyownfriend2015:

PHOTO: 2014 ——————-2016

My NEW YEARS Ode to Thy Self…

This is the first time in my life where I am ‘taking in’ my true self… breathing it all in as a full, whole, and completed young woman.
(Yup - I said young … so ‘Shut Up’ Lisa Taylor! LOL πŸ˜‚)

The decisions I’ve made and experiences I’ve had led me to this moment in time.
My time… My season.
For once, I believe I matter in this world.
I take myself Seriously.

I declare Greatness upon my future.
I did and am doing MY work towards blessings abundant.

I changed my Mind, Body, Diet.
I learned to forgive myself.
I love ME unconditionally.
I am not brand new - just upgraded to a better version.
(We all want that Deluxe Rolls Royce instead of the Pinto we have at home… wink, πŸ˜‰)

I am introducing and meeting the next version of myself…
I am in the best shape of my life and In spiritual balance with myself.
I am so hope-filled for the next phase of my life.

Some might view me as being Hard, Difficult, at times Unyielding…
Those folks are confused… for they do not belong on the path I am walking… it is NOT their time.
As for me - I’m unstoppable with a strong sense of self, who knows what I want and what I deserve in life.

I am The Only One who gets to say what goes on in my life.
I am not willing to be chronically unhappy even if somebody paid me to do so.
My inner vision is clear for the first time in my life.

I now Ask for what I want -if I get a No… I self evaluate and Ask again!

So “Hello. My name is Michele. Nice to meet you.”

Happy New Year to me.

I usually don’t post anything like this on here, but I’m honestly so proud of myself. This didn’t happen over night nor was it easy, but It was so worth the time, effort, pain and all that goes with it. It’s soooo easy to fall into bad eating habits and incredibly difficult to lose weight but if anybody is having difficulty please don’t give up.

Good things take time ✌🏻️

2016: Year of Dew. Gains made this year: mental, muscle, and much more. 2016 may not have been everyone’s year (I’m sorry), but it did me good. Or rather, I did myself good. On top of kicking ~50lbs to the curb and adopting a whole new eating and active lifestyle, I also:

  • Got a huge promotion
  • Moved into my first apartment
  • Got my license
  • Bought my first car

2016 kicked a lot of people’s butts this year, but I’m proud to say that I kicked my own ass the hardest. Honestly, I’m looking forward to another year of growth, development, and ass kicking in 2017 (in the best way).

elyssamay:

To those who stick solely to cardio without any weights in fear of getting “bigger” or looking more “manly”, here’s how just adding resistance training toned and leaned out my body so far and within less than year.

On the left is a photo of me in February 2016 before adding weight/ resistance training to my workouts. Before this, exercise to me meant going to the gym 3 times a week on average and spending over an hour on an elliptical or bike. And, maybe using the leg press if I didn’t feel embarrassed (since it was one of the few ‘non-cardio’ machines I kinda knew how to use).

On the right is me during December 2016 after going to the gym still 3 times a week on average, for only an hour average, BUT adding weights and variation to my workout.

Doing this, definitely did not make me look any “bigger” or more “manly”. In my perspective, it made me look the exact opposite!

imalwaysalwayshungry:

I didn’t have the courage to take such a photo when I was 300lbs.

But on the left it’s me at 230lbs and on the right is me at 187lbs.

That’s 43lbs lost in 3 months and this is how I look how.

Working towards my goal weight of 170lbs. Slowly but surely I see myself transforming.

Just 17lbs to go! If I can do it you can too! 2017 here I come! @motiveweight - submission

I’m 19 and 5'7(175 cm)
Currently 167 lbs (76 kg)

This is my story:

I was busy the last 6 years and what I was doing was ruining myself with an unhealthy life and Junk foods.

But when the real me stood up and started to change everything, my depression turned into motivation.

I lost 55 lbs in less than 6 months (222 lbs to 167 lbs) with no loose skin.

I changed my way of life including eating, drinking , activities, sport and …

I have hit the gym for 2 months and I have started my hardcore 3 month challenge to achieve the best body I’ve ever had.

I still have 17 lbs to go.

What I see now is : the closer you get the harder it gets but I’m motivated and happy as f**K .

Thank God I didn’t die in that miserable shape.

Firstly I apologise for the truly appalling quality of the lighting in both pictures. This room just doesn’t work but it’s also my only full length mirror so I’m sorry it’s a bit rubbish.

So despite Christmas πŸŽ„ this is my official five months progress photo. It’s actually one where I can look at this and start to feel happy about things. It’s going in the right direction and clean eating with regular exercise is completely changing my body. It’s all a bit excited. Is it ok to say I actually feel a bit proud of myself?

coldcolorface:

Update: I was always the plumpy child in the family. All the cousins were pretty and slim and I was just fat. But I wanted to feel pretty and beautiful too and after dealing with so much I can finally say the weight loss has not only helped me with my health but also the way I see myself. It is so important to love yourself and not limit yourself because of how much you weigh.

Sadly we live in a society that puts people down based on their appearance and all I have to say is… To each their own. Everyone is beautiful in their own way. If you don’t like your weight trust me you can lose it like I did.

Always believe in yourself. You can do anything.

steaknstars:

june 2014 | december 2015 | june 2016 | yesterday
this is gonna be a long post.

i’ve always been fairly average when it comes to my weight…in 2014, i really let myself go. i got comfortable with hating myself. i didn’t have the motivation to change. in 2015, i made many steps to choose me. it wasn’t about anyone else, it was me. i never chose myself and at first it felt selfish…but self love is my biggest driving force. if you don’t care about yourself, nurture yourself, love yourself, you won’t get far in anything. you are the most important person in your life. take care of your body, mind and soul and watch how you get rewarded in every aspect of your life.

i said id get my body back and i went back and i got BETTER. can’t stop, won’t stop y'all. yesterday was leg day and i got 195 for 4 and when i first started, i could barely do 20 for 10…and i’m 50 pounds down. it all takes time and i will always be patient. i’ll get there πŸ’ͺ🏽 thank you to everyone who motivates me daily and of course, special s/o to God for always having my back through my toughest days. i really love who i’m becoming.
