futurecoachc:

1 yr difference with a lot of small changes along the way.

I’m amazed more and more about the progress my body is making with this journey on fat loss as well as how much more mature I look (and feel).

There’s probably about 5 - a million times a day where I ask myself “why didn’t I do this before?!?”

Well shit….
I don’t want to feel embarrassed of how I looked before, but it is embarrassing showing it off. When you don’t really feel like you looked like that before, you don’t see it until you’ve made a change and compare it.

patasuciah

I’ve been chubby ever since I can remember. I never thought much of it because I felt comfortable with myself and I felt like me. But after a breakup in January and seeing all that extra weight I had gained towards the end of the relationship due to my depression, I decided enough was enough.

On 01/19/15, I was 195 pounds, and since then, I started eating small portions with fruit between each meal and simply doing cardio workouts. At first, I worked out 30 min 3x a week for 4 months, but my portions weren’t as small as they should have been. Then I ate about 850 cals a day for a month and a half without working out because I honestly didn’t have the energy for it. This was dumb because it was not healthy and my body wasn’t having it. Now, I’ve found the perfect balance of working out 45 min 5x week and eating the right amount and a cheat meal once a week.

It’s not about restriction, it’s about substitution.

Photos on the left (hair down):       5/18/15, 173 lbs
Photos on the right (hair in a bun): 7/29/15, 161 lbs
I still have some ways till my goal weight of 120 pounds (I’m 5 foot 2), but I’m gonna enjoy it because why not lol!

Updated progresspic! For the days I feel like nothing is happening and that nothing has happened at all… Things do happen, they’re just gradual changes that you don’t notice! Also this shows how important it is to look at the non-scale victories, between the last two photos there’s “only” a few kgs in difference. However you can clearly see a difference, especially in the side-view. With that said, never give up on yourself! Healthy progress is slow and steady, I’m getting healthier and these pictures shows how my body reacts to this. Not done yet but slowly getting there, the healthy way! Stay strong and don’t give up! ๐Ÿ’ช✌

fatgirlgetsfitatlast Before and during: 352 pounds vs....

fatgirlgetsfitatlast

Before and during: 352 pounds vs. 210.

I’m 54 years old and 6'0" tall and have been overweight all my life. I’ve gained and lost probably 10,000 pounds in my life, honestly, and the time frame between these two pictures is several years, because of going off and on ‘diets’ and losing then regaining the weight.

352 was my highest weight; 208 was my lowest last October. Since then, I have re-gained about 10 pounds, but am working hard to regain my focus and drive to get under 200 pounds this year.

My story, in short:

About two years ago I realized that I am a carb/gluten addict and fully committed to a ketogenic / low carb-high fat LIFESTYLE. I weighed 300 pounds at that time, having just regained 50 pounds during a six-month long binge on sugar, grains, and starches.

I do not believe I have B.E.D. I firmly believe that I am addicted to carbs and gluten. When I stop eating them, I go through withdrawals, but then the insatiable cravings dissipate and go away. I’m no longer controlled by food. I have more energy, my brain fog lifts, my blood pressure and cholesterol regulate to proper levels. It’s honestly a miracle!

But, just like an alcoholic, I’ve finally learned that I can’t have one bite of my trigger foods without falling into a downward spiral of weight gain, binges, and self-loathing, the cravings making it nearly impossible to stop myself.

If you’ve ever felt like you are out of control, if the cravings have ever been so strong that you literally ate until you thought you’d pop and then ate some more, if you are tired and lethargic and unfocused, you might also be a carb/gluten addict.

Realizing this has changed my life. It could change yours.

There are several posts on my blog about carb addiction and what its been like for me, if you are interested in learning more. I’m always happy to talk with anyone about keto or carbs or anything at all.

g-ldenlove:

So Im actually really scared to post this, since Im not really a fitness/health blog.
I guess this is my first before & during!
The left was taking back in November, I was a freshman in college. I was finally on my own and let myself forget how much I loved my body and how I loved my healthy lifestyle before.
The right, was taking 10 minutes ago. Same shirt, same leggings. 8 months apart. I havent been putting in real effort until lately. I struggled with my ED through these past months, but I’ve been choosing recovery. Ive made it my priority to be happy and healthy, like I know I can be.
Ive been so discouraged lately, but looking at these comparisons, Im ecstatic for my future.
Thank you to everyone who has encouraged me and supported me along the way, Im not done yet!
