Man Admits To Being Spider-Man In Touching Obituary
Nora McInerny and Aaron Purmort lived a very public love story. At first glance, it may seem to be an odd way to bid farewell to someone who died from cancer but it’s a perfect summation of how the couple tried to keep a sense of humor even as they were quickly engulfed by a tumor that they knew would be lethal — a Grade 4 glioblastoma.

4 weeks toning progress!
I’m amazed by this photo. I thought I wasn’t making much difference and then put the 2 together!! Was gonna wait til next week to post this but I am so excited! Barely recognise myself.
Eat clean, workout, sleep, repeat.
motiveweight59kg in both photos (left Oct ‘14, right Nov ‘14) Less fat, more muscle. Just goes to show the difference that 4 weeks toning can make.

Left: Running 4-5 days a week + Restricted diet (limited fried food, no junk) + No more than 2,000 cals a day
Right: Lifting 3-4 days a week + Loose diet (whatever I want to eat really) + 2,500 cals a day
Wow. Just. Wow.
I’m surprised at the transition I’ve made in regards to what I choose as an exercise and also the physical changes I’ve seen.
I loved running, I still do.
But man do I have a passion for weight lifting.

Height, weight, gender, your mood and even the company you keep can determine your body temperature. Because biology is weird like that.

pixie-gets-fit: I know it’s not the best before and after...
I know it’s not the best before and after because of the different angles but the back story is much more significant.
The first photo was at my brothers year 7 graduation in 2012 and I was in the middle of the worst place in my life.
I hated my job, the people were horrible and I actually disliked them so much that I never spoke to them unless I had to. (In a tight workplace with only a few people working that gets really lonely and tedious.) I had to get glasses from being in front of the computer all day, I gained a lot of weight from sitting behind a desk and never moving.
I was in a terrible relationship where he abused me emotionally and physically. We ate take out basically every day. I hated being with him but he made it very hard to leave.
I never realised the impact that year of my life had on my body until after I left the relationship. But even then I found it hard to change my mentality when there were bad foods so easily accessible to me. I had seen photos of myself and hated them but I never felt that big. I didn’t come to terms that the girl in the photo was me. It was disgusting.
I really started making a change at the end of last year when I moved out of home with my current boyfriend. He has really helped me along the way and has put up with all my crap. I had my own space to do what I needed to start my weight loss journey without the temptation of the snack foods my mum kept at her house for my brothers.
Now half a year later I feel better than ever and am almost back to the size I was when I was at school. I am so happy with my progress and even though it’s still hard for me to stay on track, I try and take each day as it comes and strive to become the best version of myself I have ever been :)

I’m still over 200lbs. I still enjoy my cans…

The funny thing is that I actually felt pretty good in the first photo. I’m not sure what my weight was there, but I had recently lost a bit of weight and I felt good about that (soon after I would gain it back). In the second photo I’m at least 50 pounds lighter but I’m feeling kinda ‘meh’ about my weight because I’m up a few pounds from my racing weight. So honestly, I’m not sure what to make of that.

I’m not done yet and I still have a long ways to go but it’s nice to look back time to time to see how far your have come. I originally started out at 310 pounds but in August I took my first back picture at 265 pounds and the December picture I came in at 210 pounds. I can’t believe the love handles I had!!!! But here soon I hope to see that scale read 180 to 190 pounds! =)

The top left is the beginning at 178.2. The bottom left is 20 pounds less than that at 158.1, and the picture on the right is what I look like today at 144.0 lbs and a total loss of 34.2 pounds in 6 months. I’m not done yet but i was feeling a little down and out of motivation, so i figured i would give it back to myself! My goal is to be 125-135 (depending on how i look at 135) i just want to be healthy and happy and to look my best when i head off to college!!

Happy Thanksgiving! I took the picture on the right on Thanksgiving 2013, I had already lost 50 pounds. The second one was this morning. I think it’s safe to say I’ve come a very far way in my journey, and hope to continue. I’m not sure of my measurements in the before picture, but I weighed 230. I’m participating in No Weigh November but my guess is that I’m around 160-165 right now.
After measurements:
Bust- 40 inches
Waist- 29 inches
Hips- 39 inches
Thigh- 21 inches

carrots-and-hummus: Jumped on the scales for the first time in...
Jumped on the scales for the first time in a couple of weeks yesterday, thinking ‘I’ve been so good lately- I MUST have lost at least a kilo or so…’
Wrong. I had in fact gained a kilo.
It got me thinking, though. Does it really matter how much I weigh? Is it surely not more important that I am making progress in other areas? I can run longer and faster, I am consistently lifting heavier and heavier weights, I am enjoying delicious food with zero guilt attached to it; I am healthy.
I’d like to say that I will never weigh myself again, but I probably will, and I will probably be hit with a tinge of disappointment if the number hasn’t gone down, but it’s not the be all and end all. The photos speak for themselves- I’m so far from where I used to be, regardless of what the scales say.
(For some reason I cut my head off when taking my ‘before’ photos, so for consistency’s sake I have kept the ‘after’ ones the same. Both are definitely me).
