Found this gem at my doctors office today at my one year follow up appointment from bariatric surgery. My doctor was thrilled with my weight loss and my life style. She said my self awareness, positivity, and determination during the last year should be taught to people, and that I am a true success story. They were so excited about my new job and my growing love of fitness, and are happy I am living my life to the fullest, still enjoying myself and not depriving myself, and learning how to live a balanced life in general.

I’m just sitting at the hospital now (there is a support group I want to attend tonight with friends) - and I keep thinking back to last year at this time, how I was in pain and trying to suck on ice chips, wondering if life would ever be normal again but so grateful to be on the “losers bench” finally. I want to go back and give myself a hug and just say, “oh if you only knew what the year has in store for you!”
