A solid year of cutting sugar and shitty foods out of my life + making my out of shape ass work out and get sweaty = 105lbs down!
I feel like an entirely different person compared to who I was a year ago. For starters, I no longer crave all of that junk food that I lived on for so long. I have also turned into one of those people that genuinely loves to work out. I started this whole weight loss journey doing 30 minute Jillian Michaels Shred it With Weights videos every other day and hating it the whole time, and now I go to Crossfit 5-6x a week. At the beginning, it was so hard to imagine that I would ever make any progress or grow to love any of these kinds of things, but it really is possible!
I think one of the most important things I learned from this journey, at least fitness-wise, is that it made such a difference once I found something I truly enjoyed and looked forward to. If you’re looking to get into any kind of working out or fitness stuff, don’t be afraid to try new things until you find something you love! I was so fucking nervous when I showed up to my very first CF class. Even though at that point I had lost a good 70-80lbs, in my mind I was still this out of shape, pathetic fat girl. I sucked it up and went inside, and it was the best decision I’ve ever made, even if the entire month of On Ramp classes kicked my ass so hard, I just couldn’t get enough. I really did fall in love with it.
If you’re trying to get into the fitness groove, don’t make yourself suffer through something you don’t enjoy, but also don’t give up! It will be hard at first! Find something that works for you, whether it’s doing a circuit at a traditional gym, a personal trainer, yoga, pilates, crossfit, hiking, running, whatever! If my ass can do it, so can you! I look back now and my biggest regret is that it took me this long to make the change to try and better myself.
