imalwaysalwayshungry:

it hasn’t been a easy journey to be back on track but I know it’s worth it.

I didn’t realise how bad my back fat has gotten until this photo is taken recently. I’m back on my fitness journey for the past 2 mths, it was the best decision that I have made this year.

don’t give up on your dream just because of the time it takes to accomplish it. time will pass anyway.

Let’s not let 2016 slip by, it’s not too late.

follow me and my bff’s journey on getting fit! we will be sharing recipes and work out routine over there!

kirstackhouse:

I’ve taken more pictures of myself this past year than ever before - not out of preferring smaller me to bigger me, but because I’m unrecognizable to myself. It’s like going through puberty 2. Both with the changes and the wierd moods. I’m becoming a whole other person. I had no idea what I might look like, and every day is a new toss of the dice. I’m like an animorph. Every mirror surprises the shit out of me, and I can’t pick myself out on video sometimes. It’s fun and super freaking unnerving at the same time. Who knows what my final evolve form might look like.

Anyway, I call this the mirror selfie initiative.

(Anyone can follow my journey over on hulloskinnyjeans on Instagram)

Before (May 2016) 239 pounds During (October 2016) 207 pounds

After months of viewing weight loss posts on Tumblr I finally decided to give this fitness thing a try. I first cut back on my obsessive eating and focused on healthier foods. After I lost my first 10 pounds I realized I could do anything so I started walking 4 laps around my schools track which eventually turned into 14 laps every afternoon. I’m now more motivated than ever and excited to see where my journey takes me.

yourweightisover:

Holy crap. Left was a month ago, about a week before I was admitted into hospital for acute diverticulitis, suffering from an infection in my gut and inflammation and swelling all over my body.

I was SO sick, on the left. Not only sick, but depressed and suffering with chronic pain every single day. I had severe cystic, inflamed acne all over my chin and I was tired every waking moment.

Skip forward only one month and my whole life has changed. This comparison is proof. I look HEALTHY for the first time in over a year. Only one month of green smoothies, vegetables, lean chicken, fish and rice. No coffee, barely any treats (except for some dark chocolate), and just a little tiny bit of dairy (still need my cheese!). I barely recognise myself. It’s truly amazing what the human body is capable of.

I hated that I had to go to hospital to find out about my condition, but now I know it was necessary to live a happier, healthier life. I never want to be in that kind of pain again. I still have a lot of progress to make, but I’m already 1000 miles from where I started.

veruschka001:

Hello everyone so the first picture was me at my biggest, yet i still managed to smile everyday and tell myself i am beautiful, people will never realize how difficult it is to be that size. Walking in shops and people look at you funny and when you with friends everyone is in bikinis and you keep “forgetting” your costume cause you too ashamed to enjoy yourself!

I have utmost respect for people (men and woman) who were and still is that size, it is the most difficult thing to cope with and the smile we wear on the outside hides all the scars and emotions we have on the inside.

So in total i have lost 20 kg and 68 cm in 12 weeks =D i have never felt better in my life, i have so much energy and feel so much better about myself!

The yellow blob that i’m holding represents 1 kg of fat which is 2.2 lb. to think i have lost 20 of those!!! I cant believe it honestly!

Anyone can do it i always used to sit and think nope ill never be able to cause of my glands and cause of this and then i realized i just kept making up excuses to make myself feel better.

At the end of the day change needs to start by YOURSELF!

And its not my Before and After, it’s my before and now cause i’m not done yet =D

I really wish I could give better tips, but it’s really just been taking better care of myself, getting in the gym, and doing a bit of yoga as of recently. I started out cycling a lot. I rode around 600 miles in a summer. Recently I’ve been doing machine rowing as cardio and weightlifting with a personal trainer.

Just find that drive, and keep going. It doesn’t matter how long it takes. It’s the journey that you must enjoy. Do it because it’s good for YOU, not anyone else.

WHOOPS. looks like I completely FAILED at keeping this blog updated!

Though I did start bullet journaling so let’s call it a tie. :D
ANYWAY. I’ve been staring at this picture comparing where I was SEVEN MONTHS ago to where I am today and like completely amazed at how far I’ve come! I’m caught between wanting to share it with EVERYONE EVER so they can be proud of me…and being completely embarrassed that I ever let myself get so big. There are so many people that never saw me when I weighed over 190lbs and I guess I’d like to KEEP it that way!

I’ve lost about 20lbs through exercise and just eating better and I’m so thrilled to be getting back to my normal size. I still have about 15lbs to go before I’ll be back what what I consider normal for me, but looking at myself now I think I could be perfectly happy if I stayed like this. Mostly because I WORKED for this and I know that trying to get back to the size I was when I was 21 is completely unrealistic.

It’s just crazy to see how a total mood and attitude shift has affected my body. I’m on a complete upswing coming out of a couple years fighting depression and I’m SO excited for the future! Yay ME!

agabbymenagerie:

I’m feeling sentimental today, as I picked up my bib for my second half marathon.

On the left is a photo from Halloween 2013, the right is from last month. In 2013 I saw that costume and thought it was cute, and a little badass. However when I tried it on I looked- well… pregnant. Seeing as I was not with child I decided I had 4 weeks to drop a few pounds. And I did!

A few weeks after this photo was taken I fell in love with running. I gained a passion along with the loss of pounds and low self esteem. I didn’t just look better; I felt better too.

In each photo you see a smile on my face. Both genuine. But you can see in the one on the right how much I’ve grown and how much I’ve learned to love my body- because it can do amazing things❤️🏃🏽‍♀️

So here it goes on Sunday another chance to push my mind, body, and soul!

timetodeflate:

💙I am in charge of how I feel today, and I choose happiness💙

Throughout my weight loss journey, people have stated they loved my positivity. I’ve gone through one of the most amazing years of my life, as well as one of the most confusing and depressing. This last year has been dramatic, physically and emotionally.
I’m trying to make it a point to focus on positivity. I’m sick of letting drama, self hate, and self doubt hold me down.
Here’s the thing. A lot of us do side by sides and talk about how sad we are for the person on the left, that they were depressed, in pain, didn’t have a life, etc. But that was not how I felt on the left. That was a girl who was a couple months post op from VSG. She was making life changes and finding her passion. And even before that, when I was at my heaviest, I had a fabulous supportive family and an amazing guy in my life. I had a great life. And now I have a great life with new opportunities. So here is my apology to the girl on the left. I’m sorry if I belittled you, if I made you have less value. A journey is full of peaks and valleys, but in the end I have always had value, and I need to chose happiness and positivity from now on. That’s the life I want to live.

wholehealthbytony:

4 years ago today I started my health journey by joining Weight Watchers to follow my inspirational friend Lisa. My goal was to lose weight but 5 months in, I was diagnosed with Lyme after being bit by a tick on a hike, which changed my goal to just simply, being well. I transitioned from Weight Watchers to Whole30 & Clean Eating, which changed my life. As always, I thank another inspirational friend Sarah Jo for getting me on that path. I shed 70 lbs and have kept it off by keeping my food choices clean.

I no longer have a dysfunctional relationship with the scale or food. It’s not about being good or bad, it’s about being & feeling well. Most importantly my Lyme symptoms stay diminished. I’m in control of my food, no longer using it for comfort or reward. My weight and blood pressure are regulated. I sleep well and have less fatigue with no sugar cravings.

I’ve learned so much about my food freedom from Melissa Hartwig (BIG SHOUT OUT! Check out all the books: It Starts with Food, Whole30 and Food Freedom Forever).

Thank you so much to my most supportive friends and family who have been on this educational and rewarding road with me every step of the way! The clean eating community is vast and I’ve learned so much over the years, I look forward to what lies ahead in year 5!

If I can do it…anyone can!

thegreentraveller: ~ monthly progress ~ I know October is not...

thegreentraveller:

~ monthly progress ~

I know October is not over yet but I always take my progress pictures on Friday so this is still a month of progress (4 weeks).

Didn’t manage to go to the gym as much as I hoped this month, but at least kept my diet under control.

I do feel a bit bloated today, probably because I was very sleep deprived yesterday and had ridiculous amounts of coffee. Too much coffee always makes me retain liquids like crazy.

So let’s get down to the numbers:

Height: 165cm
HW: 122kg
SW: 111kg
CW: 106kg
Loss: 5kg
Kilos to go: 46kg

I am pretty happy with these. A 5kg weight loss is roughly 2.75lbs a week, which at my height seems like a slow and steady loss. I don’t want to lose too much too fast, as that never turned out well for me in the past.

Goal for November is to get back to double digits, so that would be 6kg weight loss. I am only going to be working 4 days a week from now on so it will be a lot easier to manage work/masters/gym!

Let’s do this 💪
