My running journey started in 2012 while I was traveling as a sorority consultant. I woke up one day feeling foreign to my own body and being uncomfortable physically. I set a goal to run or walk at least four miles a day.
If you are considering losing weight or becoming a runner, the app Run5k, an interval training program will change your life.
It’s setup where you can play music and follow the program for 9 weeks and eventually be able to run 30 minutes without stopping.
The first time I tried the app, I quit on week 4. The second time I tried the app, I finished my first 5k.Running to me isn’t about speed or getting a medal, it’s about following your own path and putting one foot in front of the other.
As I am one month out until running Brooklyn, I notice the power of creating an intention with every race to fuel WHY you’re running it in the first place.
This race and my fifth half marathon is about connecting to goals and aiming higher with my vision…for life, love, professional growth, and the limitless opportunities between while staying true and listening to my intuition.
What is something you want to achieve?
Set yourself up to win by preparing and setting a positive mindset first.
You can achieve ANYTHING you want when you first believe in yourself and go 100% all in.One way I set myself up for an early morning workout it to lay clothes out the night before. Doing so helps me roll out of bed and be in motion without making the decision to hold back and quit.
