Almost 9 months ago I saw the photo taken at my sons high school graduation and was beyond disappointed in myself. I realized I hid a lot of hurt, resentment, pain and shame in every roll, fold, and curve. I promised myself I would lose 40lbs by my 40th birthday last November, but 40lbs turned to 85lbs nearly 9 months later. I have truly given birth to a different healthier me. I went from a size 18/20 to a size 8-10. What I realized is that it is never how you start, as long as you finish strong, and be healthy. When you don’t let go your body will hold onto the stress in more ways than one.
