It has been exactly one year since I started working out and eating healthy. The picture on the left is me this time last year, the one on the right is me now. 158+ pounds vs. 104 pounds.
There are obviously noticeable differences. I went from wearing size 12 and XL to wearing size 0 and XS, I’ve got the beginnings of a six pack, and I’m on my way to getting the Sarah Connor arms of my dreams. But there are a lot of other, not on the surface differences.
I don’t get out of breath from walking up a flight of stairs anymore, can dance way more than one song without feeling like I want to die, and I ran my first ever 5K, without stopping. I eat all kinds of different foods, foods I never would have tried a year ago. I’m more social, more interested in trying new things, enjoy being out in the world more. I am infinitely more confident.
There is nothing “wrong” with the picture on the left. I don’t think I look bad, in fact, I loved the dress I was wearing in that picture. The me now, of the right picture, though? Yeah, I think I look pretty awesome. And I FEEL awesome. I’m also not done. Losing weight was the primary goal (wanted to lose an even 50 pounds, which I did), and I’ve got so many more goals now that I’m healthy and fit(ter). I want to run a marathon, I want that six pack, I want Sarah Connor arms. I want to get stronger, keep eating healthy, and continue on this lifestyle change.
Here’s to a year of change and years to come of continuing that change. #beforeandafterweightloss #healthandfitness #journey
