September 2010 - May 2011

As an shy middle schooler, all I wanted to do was fit in. I had a very low self-esteem and absolutely no confidence. I was tall at 5'9 and being a size 16 made me feel like a total outsider. I decided to cut all sugar out of my diet and eat smaller portions of food; along with going out for Track, by May I was a size 10 and my confidence was soaring. I’ve gained some weight back, but I haven’t lost my confidence and I know that my body is perfect the way it is.

One month progress! 5'5, 160 lbs –> 145 lbs

I decided to stop drinking soda and eating fast food! This is one month’s progress from just healthy eating, nothing else! Finally starting to work out now but taking my time to figure out what I like and what works for me. While often I would mess up my diet (two sodas over the course of this month, fast food a couple times), I try not to make myself feel bad about my mistakes and move on. I feel so much happier and ready for the future to only get better!
